First a story.. About three weeks ago, a tiny kitten (now known as Tiggy), accidentally got caught in the engine compartment of Ms. Brewer’s car and traveled to ABIS one morning. Amazingly, Tiggy survived. Tiggy was less than 4 weeks old and his life was at risk. Mr. Davis and Ms. Kenney took him home and then contacted a local organization, “Tiger by the Tails” (TBTT). The owner of the TBTT, Ms. Kaveri was there to help. She knew Tiggy needed food several times a day and someone to look after him just to survive. Tiggy has been living at TBTT for 3 weeks now and is doing great!
So, the story continues. The Community Service ASA took a field trip to TBTT this week. Fortunately, TBTT is only 5 minutes away from ABIS. When we arrived there, we got to see the over 20 cats and kittens that have been rescued by Ms. Kaveri and her organization. The cats are all well provided for, including food, vaccinations, spaying, neutering and a loving home. The Community Service students are ready to make donations to support TBTT and help with finding people to adopt cats and kittens. In fact, Jaira’s (G8) family has offered to take Tiggy home for a week to take care of him over the April holiday and possibly adopt him.
If you are interested in supporting TBTT, please come to our weekly Monday break and lunch fundraiser, and / or you can give donations directly to Nicole (G10). Thank you for supporting ABIS Community Service and TBTT.
Together we can make a difference!!
