A group of sixty smiling 4th graders filed into a large classroom at Al Ahid Al Zahir primary school here in Sohar. They were excited to meet their new friends from ABIS, and wondering what was going to happen next..!? Then, Ziad, the ABIS Community Service president introduced ABIS students to the eager children in his best Arabic. We counted the 4th graders off into five groups and got started on activities that ABIS students prepared for the day. The five activities were English teaching, bracelet making, team building, math games, and the ever popular “Slime” making. These enrichment activities made school extra fun for the sixty 4th graders that we got to work with on Monday morning earlier this week. The children were full of smiles and glad that they got to take home bracelets, slime, and some valuable skills like how to work together better, English, math and more.

We are finding that building these types of fun and educational relationships with local Omani public schools is a great way to put our kindness into action. Our team of nineteen ABIS Community Service students are also finding that as they give and provide fun and meaningful activities to local Omani children, that the smiles they create warm their hearts too.

Great job this week Community Service! Together we can make a difference!!
