This week the Community Service ASA students got their “hands dirty” (literally!) with some service and friendship with the local Al Hikma Omani School here in Sohar. It was a morning of making and playing with slime, creative art projects, team building games, and English / math teaching together with our newfound 3rd grader friends.

This student lead / teacher supported trip is a great opportunity for ABIS students to put their learning, hobbies and personal interests into action through sharing them with the local Omani community. The slime making was surely a highlight as the children mixed, colored, squished, and squeezed their very own slime. The children loved their art projects and playing team building games. Our new 3rd grade friends also surprised us with their English and math as ABIS students worked with them on these important skills.

ABIS students enjoyed giving freely and doing “hands-on” Community Service! We hope we can spend more time with these children again soon, likely inviting them over to spend a couple of hours with us here at ABIS. Keep checking for more to come with ABIS Community Service.

Nice work CS! Together we can make a difference!
