Dear parents,
One of the teachers’ areas of focus recently has been to standardise our grading system, which will have a number of benefits ultimately leading to higher student achievement. A great deal of time has been spent on this and we have now arrived at a point where we can use this grading system in our reports, share it with students and use it to mark every piece of work in every year group. The grading system indicates the student’s achievement on a 1-7 level and compares it to the average level of achievement for an international student. It is also the basis of a personal target setting system that students will be implementing in the next few weeks. The 1-7 system is used by the IB organization and is the most logical system to use in our school, as we are PYP authorized in the Primary School and also aim to be authorized for the Diploma in the Secondary School later this academic year. More information on this will follow shortly.
We will soon have out first ‘Swim Meet’, having been invited to participate in a swimming competition against other schools on December 11. We are very happy about this and look forward to building more bridges with different schools so that our students can engage in activities and socialise outside the boundaries of the school. As the school expands, so will the number of sports and activities that we can offer and compete in. On this occasion participation in the event will be by invitation only.
I wish you an enjoyable weekend!
