The library is excited about the upcoming “Book Week” activities planned for the 24th- 28th of April in order to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of International Book Week. Next week students will start voting on their favorite fiction genre and the winner will be revealed on Thursday the 28th of April!
The following events/activities have been organized by the Community Council. Students will discuss these events/activities in classes and in the library leading up to the week to generate easy ideas for how they can participate! All activities are meant to be easy and fun.
Sunday: Dress as a word – ( example to represent “colorful”, a student may dress in a lot of different colors)
Monday: whole school will read for 25 minutes after AM break ( for the 25th anniversary)
Tuesday: Genre Hat Day – (Your hat represents a book genre, for example a hat with question marks on it might represent mystery)
Wednesday: Dress as a book character (this might even just be one item, such as a lightning bolt on the forehead to represent Harry Potter, or a princess crown to represent Cinderella)
Thursday: Primary – will find results from the favorite genre voting done all week
Secondary – will find out the results from the short story competition.
