A number of our students travelled to Dubai at the weekend to compete in the Middle East Unity Cup swimming meet being held at the prestigious Hamdan Sports Complex. The meet involved over 800 swimmers from 32 schools across the Middle East from Azerbaijan to Egypt. For most of our swimmers it was their first competition in a 50 meter pool and all swam exceptionally well breaking their personal bests by a few seconds. While David, Kameron, Sara and Isaac did extremely well with top 10 finishes in their events Millie, Lilli ,Tay’a and Mels also performed well finishing in the top half of their age group categories. The star of the meet for ABIS was Jules who came first for a gold medal in his 50m freestyle, 2nd for silver in the 100m freestyle and 3rd for bronze in the 50m butterfly. A huge WELL DONE to our swimmers and thank you to the ABIS cheer squad who travelled to Dubai to cheer on our swimmers.
