We had an enjoyable day: decorating biscuits in Omani flag colours (except the red food colouring turned the icing orange!) Maybe the butter already had a yellow colour in it?! We also worked on a group Islamic art mosaic picture and our own desert pictures.

Grade 9, Day #1: we’ve arrived!

Scavenger hunt, art and halwa

To start Oman Week we did a colour scavenger hunt for items in nature. We followed this with sunset and silhouettes art and finished the day eating halwa, dates and drinking Arabic coffee in the Omani tent.

The day was filled with art, dates and Omani coffee. We learned that you have to eat an odd number of dates and that you cannot drink tea with dates.
