This week we announced the start of Peer Tutoring in the SLS! Receiving tutoring from a peer is a great way to support learning. Studies show that peer tutoring can be highly effective for both parties, helping students and tutors to consolidate their knowledge and extend their learning beyond the classroom. Tutors can also claim CAS hours for the time they spend helping their peers, as an added bonus.
The first meeting between tutors and their students will be on Wednesday, October 29th, at lunchtime. If you missed signing up this week, you have until Monday at 4pm to sign up. Parents, if you are interested in your child being involved in this activity and would like more information, please contact either Ms. Cathy Marchmont or Ms. Abby Brewer via email (c.marchmont@abisoman.com or a.brewer@abisoman.com).
