Last week Secondary students started their Inter House Football competition. First up were the boys with the Falcons and Desert Foxes. Unfortunately the Falcons met an “on fire” Desert Foxes team with David and Shalin wreaking havoc in attack and Sultan and Teja solid in defense to take a 7-0 victory. The girls game between the Falcons and the Leopards was a much closer affair. The Falcons scored early through a nice shot from Tay’a and were unlucky not score with a number of close calls for both Sanna and Tay’a. The Leopards were not totally outclassed though and Andee and Sarah combined to apply pressure at the other end. Eventually the pressure told and they finally scored to make it 1-1 in a very even game.
In this weeks games the Dolphins proved too strong for the Leopards in the boys game running out winners 2-0. For the Dolphins Julio and Klint combined well with Julio scoring first and then Klint put the game beyond the Leopards reach with a classy finishing touch for goal. Ziad tried his best for the Leopards and was well supported by Rafael and Jake but they couldn’t find a way past Ishtiaq. In the girls competition the Desert Foxes and Dolphins played a very close game with a goal from Christine proving to be the difference. Christine was well supported by Aaima and Noaf while for the Dolphins Andrea, Courtney and Wi-aam had strong games.
