Grade 7 students are currently engaged in their science summative assessments, focusing on Criterion D, which examines the application and impact of science. They are exploring how elements from the periodic table can be transformed into useful materials that affect our world. Each student has selected an element to research, investigating both its positive and negative implications by considering its scientific properties, applications, and broader environmental, ethical, and social impacts. Their final product will be an infographic accompanied by either a short essay or a video explanation, allowing them to creatively present their findings.
In math, students have recently completed Criterion A and are now preparing for their final assessments in Criterion D, which focuses on the applications of ratios and proportions in real-life scenarios. To support their learning, dedicated time is being allocated during math and science lessons for students to work on their project-based assessments.
These projects aid students in grasping key concepts while also encouraging them to connect what they have learned in class to real-life situations.
