Design this week by grade by Paul Healy | Apr 22, 2021 | Grade 10, Grade 7, Grade 7 - 10 (MYP), Grade 8, Grade 9 | 0 comments This week students learnt an easy but useful framework to analyse a products Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT). It is a framework that can be used across the subjects and if used will help students be more successful learners. Grade 8s spent the week learning about Google Sheets. We explored the basic structure of the program as well as how to create simple formulas using cell references. The aim of the week was to calculate the cost of the pizzas that they made several weeks back. Sheets or excel is used in all walks of life and as such could be a valuable tool for students. Grade 9s continued with the Masterchef competition. This weeks challenge was to create a flatbread with an accompaniment. Flatbreads were amongst the earliest processed foods and as such are part of nearly all food cuisines around the world. Students had fun exploring different versions and then creating their own dish. G10 have been evidencing their learning of their products they recently completed. In some ways it’s really challenging for students to demonstrate and showcase the skills and techniques they have used to create their products.
