Grade 7 to 9 Students have been hard at work in the workshop creating their products. While grade 10s are developing their ideas for their chosen community based product.

Grade 7 bird products are at various stages of completion based on their final sketches. This week they have been working on the following skills; measuring, drilling, sinking screws, sanding, glueing. The cutting of the wood has been completed by Mr Isles and Healy
Grade 8 students measured, cut and assembled their frames for the pavers. Next they mixed up the concrete and added elements to the pavers. The paver design will reflect a metaphor about themselves.
Grade 9s are creating products to be used here at school. Here we have a few products that are nearing completion. We have a workshop table, signage and music instrument storage.
Grade 10 presented their design briefs at the beginning of the week in small groups of 3 to each other. Later in the week students completed some speed designing. They had 10 minutes to create 3 different ideas, then in random pairs they had 1 minute to present the ideas and then 1 minute for their partner to ask ideas and offer commentary (see image). It’s a quick and effective method to develop products.
