What a huge week in sport it’s been. Last Monday our senior basketball teams played games against the Indian School – boys, and Sohar Park – girls. The girls game was another close one between the two teams with our girls eventually taking the game 26-24. For ABIS Courtney was the top scorer with 6 points and all the girls making valuable contributions. The boys dominated their game from the touch off and ran out winners 63-33 with David top scoring with 29 points and Newton adding 10.
On Thursday footballers from SIS visited the school to play in the first ever matches on our new pitch. The 13&Us were the first to try out the new pitch and played a very strong match before eventually going down 1-0 after confusion in the goal mouth resulted in a goal to SIS. The senior team also put in a strong performance and were very competitive in their game but unfortunately were pipped at the post going down 5-4 in a very exciting game. These games showed how much our footballers have improved as they edge closer to their SIS rivals.
