On Monday ABIS hosted the Indian School’s 13&U girls and boys basketball teams.

The girls were first up and although the Indian School girls showed good skills and great defense they couldn’t hold out for long with Lotus finding good space and scoring the first basket to start the ball rolling. Taya was her usual enthusiastic self making countless steals and a great lay up with Emma backing her up with great defense and 3 solid baskets. Sanna was once again our top scorer with 10 points with a couple of very good steals and lay ups while Sara, Courtney and Hannah were excellent in defense. The final score was 23-4 to ABIS with the highlight of the game being the great teamwork and passing between all the girls.

The boys were up next and from the opening whistle they knew they were in for a tough game. The Indian School boys scored the first two baskets as our boys found it difficult to get the ball to go in the hoop. Julio finally got things started and and with Newton finding his mark the ABIS boys got slowly back in the game to make things fairly even by half time. Sultan scored a nice lay up to start the second half and with Kameron growing in confidence the boys gradually took control of the game. Julio made some great steals and passes to create scoring opportunities as ABIS took the win 28-19. Well done to all the boys as they all had solid games with Ishtiaq outstanding on the rebounds, Abdallah playing a great first game and Abhishek solid in all departments.
