I am very excited to announce that the Royal Opera House in Muscat is going to offer two shows for children.
The first show, The Music Man is scheduled on Thursday, 11th October at 2pm
New York’s acclaimed Glimmerglass Festival presents its new production of The Music Man, Meredith Willson’s Tony Award®-winning American musical. For itinerant con man Harold Hill, anyone with money is a target – and the citizens ofRiver City,Iowa are his latest mark. When Marian Paroo, the local librarian, tries to expose him as a swindler, Harold sets out to win her heart – and save himself. Will the town get wise to Harold before he steals their savings, or will Marian make an honest man out of him?
The second show, A Family Night at the Opera House will be on Wednesday, 30th January and Thursday, 31st January at 6pm
This family-friendly programme is specially designed to engage young audiences in the excitement and wonder of the performing arts. The programme features exceptionally talented young performers from Omanand abroad who sing and play with a level of skill and joy that will undoubtedly inspire audience members of all ages. Then, Austria’s Salzburg Marionette Theatre presents Peter and the Wolf in a clever and visually stunning puppetry adaptation of the beloved Russian tale.
