Happy Thursday and Eid to all in advance!
We have completed the 26 weeks of the academic year. It is good to see everyone full of energy and this semester is going great. It is just awesome to see you everyday. Here’s a look at the incredible things we did this week and the exciting adventures ahead!
🚀 Grade 7: Defining Mathematical relationships using expressions!
You absolutely rocked this week while simplifying and solving mathematical equations and representing and solving mathematical inequalities . You learnt how to represent inequalities on the number line and how to write inequalities from the representations on the number lines. You have demonstrated your understanding on quizlet and brilliant.org platforms shared with you on Google classroom. Some students are really enjoying it and they are coming up to solve questions in front of the class which is a great highlight of the week for me. Next week after the spring break, you will continue reviewing mathematical expressions and equations to prepare for criterion A summative in near future.
💡 Grade 8: Mastering Geometry!
This week, we inquired into the area and perimeter of 2 dimensional figures. We have extended the inquiry into circles, arcs, sectors and ellipses. The engagement during these inquiries are the best thing to experience this week too. We will continue with application of these skills next week after the spring break and extend our inquiry into the surface areas of 3 dimensional solids.
✨ Grade 9: Exploring the data and its visualisation!
This week, we are still in the middle of data exploration of the grouped data. We are inquiring into the measures of central tendency and spread for the grouped data. The biggest highlight of the week is student engagement and use of a tech tool brilliant.org for learning. Next week, after the break, we will continue with grouped and bivariate data handling and another practice test of the skills acquired in the two weeks.
📈 Grade 10: Getting ready!
This week we have started revising mathematical concepts for upcoming mock e-assessments . We also reflected on our learnings required for the e-assessments. We are using a practice mock test on assessprep. The focus is mathematics and efficient use of tools available on assessprep. The biggest highlight for me is that students are confident and they are eager to solve questions before me. Next week, after the break, we will continue with the review of sequences, patterns and other topics for review.
🎯 Grade 11: Exploring data using statistics!
The learning engagement this week has been fantastic! We inquired into data handling through inquiring into the bivariate data. We explored scatter graphs, correlation, coefficient of correlation and regression. You are solving questions shared on google classroom and Kognity. The best highlight of the week is the enthusiasm to learn these concepts. Next week, we will continue problem solving with statistics and probability and reflect on your understanding of statistics.
You have all earned a wonderful and restful weekend and spring break. Let’s meet again on Sunday (after the spring break) with lots of energy and excitement to learn and explore!!!
Eid Mubarak to all!!!
Mr. Arun
