We have successfully wrapped up our units on Forces, Energy, and Work. Students completed Criterion D (Impact of Science) for these topics and have received feedback. This week we focused heavily on revision through a variety of techniques and small formative tasks to reinforce key concepts and build confidence.
We are now preparing for the Criterion A (Knowing and Understanding) summative assessment on Sunday, 1st March which is an important opportunity for students to demonstrate their full understanding of the units.
Formative assessments provide ongoing feedback, guide teaching adjustments, and offer multiple low-stakes chances to practise and improve, while summative assessments allow students to showcase their overall mastery. Together, these varied opportunities help create a complete picture of each student’s learning.
Our next unit will introduce cell biology, exploring how cells make matter alive and laying the foundation for deeper biological concepts.
