This week Secondary School students took a look at the importance of structuring their days. Students are strongly encouraged to plan their days in advance: when will homework be completed? When is dinner? When do I relax and chat with friends? What time should I go to bed? By creating this kind of structure, students will increase their organization and success.
As one Japanese author puts it, “a higher level of focus results in a higher level of quality”.
For Sunday, students have been asked to create a basic outline of a weekly structure, something that they feel can be followed (with some flexibility). See the image below for an example of what we mean.
Please chat with your child about this. The more input and support our students have setting up and maintaining an organized schedule, the better prepared and less stressed they will be.
