Grade 9 Science has wrapped up the first part of the term with a comprehensive Criterion A assessment exploring acids and bases, their properties, and their impact on the environment. Students have now completed assessments for Criteria A, B and C, bringing together their scientific knowledge, investigation skills and ability to process and evaluate evidence. This week also marked an important milestone as students completed their first assessment online using AssessPrep, an exciting step in our preparation for electronic assessments next year. This experience will help students become more familiar with the digital assessment environment while continuing to develop the skills and confidence needed to demonstrate their learning effectively.

After a well-deserved break, we will turn our attention to Biology, beginning a new unit designed to deepen students’ understanding of living systems and strengthen their scientific foundations. This learning will support their continued preparation for the MYP eAssessments while providing valuable grounding for those considering Biology and related subjects as part of their future DP subject choices. We look forward to another engaging, inquiry-driven unit filled with opportunities to question, investigate and make meaningful connections between science and the world around us!
