Our Grade 8 scientists have officially wrapped up their Biomolecules unit this week with a summative Criterion A assessment. It has been a pleasure watching them do a lot of inquiry into proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, and nucleic acids. This marks a major milestone in our curriculum as we have now completed four comprehensive units this academic year: Ecology and Ecosystems, Introduction to the Periodic Table, Light and Sound Waves, and finally, Biomolecules.

Early next week, students will receive detailed feedback on both their recent lab reports and their summative assessments. This feedback will be a vital stepping stone as we transition into our fifth and final unit of the year: Chemical Formulae, Types of Reactions, and Balancing Equations. We are excited to finish the year strong by applying their knowledge of elements to the dynamic world of chemical interactions!
