Our Grade 7 and 8 students have been working diligently on their latest scientific investigations, transitioning from hands-on experimentation to rigorous data analysis.

  • Grade 7: To deepen their understanding of the Forces unit, students conducted experiments on Hooke’s Law. By measuring how springs stretch under different loads, they are learning to quantify the relationship between force and extension.

  • Grade 8: In our study of Biomolecules, students investigated enzyme activity. Specifically, they collected data on how temperature fluctuations affect the rate of reaction, witnessing firsthand how biological catalysts respond to their environment.

This inquiry-based approach has allowed both year groups to collect essential raw data for their lab reports. Students are now focused on their Summative Assessment (Criteria B & C), where they are processing their findings and drawing scientific conclusions. Please note that these reports are due next week. We encourage students to double-check their graphs and evaluations to ensure they reflect the high quality of their practical work.
