Grade 8 Science Update

Our current unit on the impact of sound and light waves has been an engaging and eye-opening experience for many students. We have explored the nature of waves, sound, and light through both theoretical learning and practical laboratory investigations, while also examining real-world applications in a conceptual way. This week, students connected their understanding to biology by studying the human ear and eye, focusing on how waves enable hearing and vision.

Next week, we will conclude the unit with group research presentations on the applications of sound and light waves, as well as the Doppler effect and the dangers of tsunamis. The scope for the upcoming Criterion A summative assessment (1 March) has been shared on Google Classroom, along with revision resources. We kindly encourage parents to support students by reminding them to review concepts at home to reinforce their understanding.

Grade 7 Science Update

We are also concluding our unit on forces, work, and energy. Throughout the unit, students have explored different types of forces, their effects, and how energy is transferred and transformed in everyday situations. They are now preparing for the summative assessment on 1 March.

All revision resources have been shared on Google Classroom, and we encourage students to review the materials regularly at home to strengthen their understanding.
