We have begun  bi-weekly 20 minute long sessions every Tuesday from 12.40-13.00pm for grade 11 chemistry. Our first session was held this Tuesday on the 14th. This condensed time frame encourages focused learning. We hope to delve into specific topics, concepts, or problems without overwhelming the students with too much information at once. Considering the busy schedules with multiple subjects and extracurricular activities that students have, these sessions will allow targeted assistance without taking up a significant portion of their day. My aim is to provide a consistent way to check in on their progress by identifying and addressing any ongoing issues or misunderstandings before they become major obstacles. The confidence levels at the moment are very high and as they gradually master concepts with targeted assistance, they are more likely to feel capable and motivated in their regular coursework.

This will also be a good time for the grade 12 chemistry student to review concepts covered earlier in grade 11.

This week we wrapped up the experimental determination of the empirical formula of Magnesium oxide and Copper (II) Sulfate pentahydrate further enhancing their laboratory skills.
