This week 15 StuCom Service students got to visit a group of 30 smiling 4th graders at Shumooa Al Watan primary school just a few minutes bus ride away from ABIS. They were excited to meet their new friends from ABIS, and wondering what was going to happen next..!? Then, Noaf (& Jaira) the Omani school visit leaders, introduced ABIS students to the eager children in her best Arabic. We counted the 4th graders off into four groups and got started on activities that ABIS students prepared for the day. The activities were English teaching, bracelet making, team building, math games and cookie decorating. These enrichment activities made school extra fun for the 4th graders.

This student led / teacher supported trip is a great opportunity for ABIS students to put their learning, hobbies and personal interests into action through sharing them with the local Omani community. ABIS students enjoyed giving freely of their time, and doing “hands-on” Community Service. We hope we can spend more time with these children again soon. Keep checking for more to come with ABIS StuCom Service Program.

Together we are making a difference!
