This week’s Secondary School post is dedicated to sports and exercise. The intramural (or inter house) football games have caused a stir this week and raised plenty of cheers and screams from our onlooking gallery of fans. We have been very happy with the level of participation and aim to have more of these events through out the year ensuring that we make full use of our sports facilities! Mr Carberry will keep you posted with his calendar of events.
Swimming gala is fast approaching and we are excitedly planning for the event. Students have been very active and we had no less than 17 students in this morning’s 7 am swimming practice speeding through the water like dolphins. We hope that you will come and support the event on March 25th as it promises to be very enjoyable.
In general, we are trying to encourage our students to be more active and sporty in order to keep them healthy and balanced. With the dramatic increase in ‘digital distractions’ in recent years, technology seems to have replaced many of the physicals pursuits we older folk followed whilst growing up. We ask all parents to help bring these young lifestyles ‘back into balance’ and encourage students to become rounded individuals (in the spiritual rather than the physical sense). We all know that the habits they create now will be the ones they keep in the future.
Have an enjoyable weekend!
