So the Oman week is in full swing and the Secondary students have embarked on their camel safari (Grade 7,8,9) and sailing adventure (Grade 6). Both trips are going well and students are adjusting to their challenges. Both trips have been chosen because they will present significant challenges to the students (physical exertion, overcoming phobias, working in teams) as well as providing the potential for a great deal of fun and we are sure that students will reflect back on these adventure weeks in years to come. If I think back to my school years, it was the special events and days out that I fondly remember. In modern educational terms these sort of trips are called ‘classrooms without walls!’

I will take a trip out to Al Buraimi today with the camel safari and will report back to you with some pictures of the students, as well as send an update later in the week! Meanwhile, I have posted a Google route so that you can see where Grade 7,8 and 9 students are heading with their ships of the desert.

Please be aware that there may be some changes to the route and camping destinations and that the pin placement is approximate.
