Happy Thursday everyone!

We have completed the 27 weeks and 3 terms of the academic year. It is good to see everyone full of energy and this semester is going great. It is just awesome to see you everyday. Here’s a look at the incredible things we did this week and the exciting adventures ahead!

🚀 Grade 7: Defining Mathematical relationships using expressions!

You absolutely rocked this week while simplifying and solving mathematical equations and representing and solving mathematical inequalities . You reviewed how to represent inequalities on the number line and how to write inequalities from the representations on the number lines. You have demonstrated your understanding on Wayground and brilliant.org platforms shared with you on Google classroom. Along with these, you also practiced mock summative. Some students are really enjoying it and they are coming up to solve questions in front of the class which is a great highlight of the week for me. Next week we will continue reviewing mathematical expressions and equations to prepare for criterion A summative.

💡 Grade 8: Mastering Geometry!

This week, we inquired into the area and perimeter of 2 dimensional compound figures. We have extended the inquiry into the combination of circles, arcs, sectors and ellipses. The engagement during these inquiries are the best thing to experience this week too. We will continue with application of these skills next week into the criterion B summative assessment which will be a stop to explore geometry further.

✨ Grade 9: Exploring the data and its visualisation!

This week, we completed the analysis of bivariate data using scatter diagrams, correlation and regression. We have explored these concepts with and without technology. The biggest highlight of the week is student engagement and use of a tech tool such as Desmos.. Next week, we will start preparation for the assessments of criterion B and C.

📈 Grade 10: Getting ready!

This week we have started revising mathematical concepts for upcoming mock e-assessments . We reflected on the practice mock test on assessprep, and currently worked on the concepts of sequences, patterns and simultaneous equations. The focus is mathematics and efficient use of tools available on assessprep. The biggest highlight for me is that students are confident and they are eager to solve questions before me. Next week, students will be busy with mock exams. Wish you luck!

🎯 Grade 11: Exploring data using statistics!

The learning engagement this week has been fantastic! We revised data handling through inquiring into the bivariate data. We revised scatter graphs, correlation, coefficient of correlation and regression. This week we also started with probability. You are solving questions shared on google classroom and Kognity. The best highlight of the week is the enthusiasm to learn these concepts. Next week, we will continue problem solving with statistics and probability and reflect on your understanding of statistics.

You have all earned a wonderful and restful weekend. Let’s meet again on Sunday with lots of energy and excitement to learn and explore!!!
