Happy Thursday to all!
We have completed the 25 weeks of the academic year. This has been an exciting week as we have been celebrating assessments of learning and assessment of learnings in school. It is good to see everyone full of energy and this semester is going great. It is just awesome to see you everyday. Here’s a look at the incredible things we did this week and the exciting adventures ahead!
🚀 Grade 7: Defining Mathematical relationships using expressions!
You absolutely rocked this week while simplifying and solving mathematical equations and have moved to representing and solving mathematical inequalities . You learnt how to represent inequalities on the number line and how to write inequalities from the representations on the number lines. You have also watched the attached videos in the slides to understand the concepts better. Some students are really enjoying it and they are coming up to solve questions in front of the class which is a great highlight of the week for me. You will now continue learning mathematical expressions and equations to prepare for criterion A summative in near future.
💡 Grade 8: Mastering Geometry!
This week, we are inquiring into the concepts of geometry. We have focused on prior knowledge of triangles and extended this inquiry into quadrilaterals and polygons. Now this week, we have started the inquiries related to perimeter and area of the geometrical figures. The engagement during these inquiries are the best thing to experience this week too. We will continue with basic concepts of geometry next week as well extending the area and perimeter of 2 dimensional geometrical figures and surface areas of 3 dimensional solids.
✨ Grade 9: Exploring the data and its visualization!
This week, we are still in the middle of data exploration. We are inquiring into the measures of central tendency and spread for the grouped data. The biggest highlight of the week is student engagement . Next week, we will continue with grouped and bivariate data handling and another practice test of the skills acquired in the two weeks.
📈 Grade 10: Exploring probability and arcs and sectors!
This week we have completed all the concepts of probability and practised questions in various contexts . We also reflected on our learnings required for the e-assessments. We are working towards filling the gaps if any for the e-assessments. We explored the length of arc and area of sector and segment. The biggest highlight for me is that students are confident and they are eager to solve questions before the teacher. Next week, we will continue with the review of sectors and segments and then move forward to sequences and patterns.
🎯 Grade 11: Exploring data using statistics!
The learning engagement this week has been fantastic! We inquired into data handling through inquiring into the bivariate data. We explored scatter graphs, correlation, coefficient of correlation and regression. The best highlight of the week is the enthusiasm to learn these concepts. Next week, we will continue problem solving with statistics and probability.
You have all earned a wonderful and restful weekend break. Let’s meet again on Sunday with lots of energy and excitement to learn and explore!!!
