Happy Thursday, Math superstars! π
We have started term 2 which is also the 10th week of the academic year and 1st week of term 2. This week has been a week of 3 way conferences and review of the concepts done in 1st term to ensure the continuity . You are rejuvenated, full of energy and you’re ready for the second term. Believe me it was just awesome to see you everyday. Hereβs a look at the incredible things we did this week and the exciting adventures ahead!
π Grade 7: Reviewing proportions and applying them in the real-world!
You absolutely rocked this week while mastering the applications of proportions. You also used ratios to divide the quantities into parts and your enthusiasm is commendable! You assessed your learnings through a fun quiz on Kahoot. Next week after the break, we will continue with the exploration of the real-world applications of Proportions and scale drawings.
π‘ Grade 8: Mastering Linear Algebra!
This week, you inquired into the like and unlike terms, difference between terms and factors,Β building-up mathematical expressions, isolating the unknown which will help you to solve the linear equations and their real-life applications in future. Your thoughtful inquiries are a massive win this week! Now, get ready to extend the learnings of the linear expression and equations into solutions of some not so complex questions. These inquiries will help you to master the art of problem-solving, abstract thinking and experience the beauty of the mathematical language of symbols and notations.
β¨ Grade 9: Getting into the world of Abstract reasoning!
This week, you are into the world of algebra and you are reviewing your prior knowledge of expansions, FOIL method of expansions and I must say that most of you have mastered the skill of expansions. You are now learning the skill of factorizations. Your class engagements in the inquiries are commendable. Next week, we’re continuing to do algebraic thinking and dive deeper into factorization of algebraic expression and then we will shift our focus to quadratic factorizations.
π Grade 10: Function discoverers!
It has been so good to watch you explore the universe of functions and graphs this week as well. This week we solved some real-world questions modelled into quadratic functions.. The focus towards learning is commendable and encouraging as always. Next week , we will start with exponential functions and the real- world applications of the exponential functions in more detail.
π― Grade 11: The City planned and now getting in to the models!
The learning engagement this week has been fantastic! We have explored the voronoi diagrams in detail, we interpolated the nearest neighbour and solved toxic waste dump problems. Next week, we will assess our skills on voronoi diagrams, the nearest neighbour interpolation and the largest empty circle,or the toxic waste dumping problem using the Voronoi diagrams through a formative assessment. Post that, we will begin with modeling skills.
You have all earned a wonderful and restful break. Go recharge those brilliant brains! π§
All the best,Β
Mr. Arun
