Happy Thursday, Math superstars! πŸ‘‹

We have already rocked 9 weeks together. The past week has been a week of reflections on assessments of learning (Summative assessments). The week required thinking hats and you have been able to wear it well. You are still full of energy and creativity that you’re ready for the term end break. Believe me it was just awesome to see you everyday. Here’s a look at the incredible things we did and the exciting adventures ahead!

πŸš€ Grade 7: Comparing and discovering proportions!

You absolutely rocked this week while mastering the applications of ratios, equivalent ratios and use of ratio in exploring the ratio of ingredients of your favourite food. You also discovered the concept of proportions and your enthusiasm is commendable! You solved some questions in the flip classroom. Some students have brought very good inquiries in class. Next week after the break, we will continue with the exploration of the real-world applications of Ratios and Proportions.

πŸ’‘ Grade 8: Mastering Algebraic Thinking!

This week, you investigated the product of brackets which will help you to learn the expansion of brackets after the reflection on the investigation of the distributive law. You also reflected on the summative investigation task. Your thoughtful inquiries are a massive win this week! Now, get ready to extend the learnings of the formative and summative tasks to unlock a whole new level of math as we dive into the fundamentals of algebraic thinking with expansion and factorization. These inquiries will help you to master the art of abstract thinking and the beauty of the mathematical language of symbols and notations.

✨ Grade 9: Getting into the world of Abstract reasoning!

You have officially completed the job of being the financial planner along with some of the great presentations of your work. This week you have entered into the world of algebra and you are reviewing your prior knowledge to dive deeper in abstract reasoning. Next week after the break, we’re continuing to do algebraic thinking and dive deeper into expansion and factorization of algebraic expression and then we will shift our focus to quadratic factorizations.

πŸ“ˆ Grade 10: Function discoverers!

It has been so good to watch you explore the universe of functions and graphs this week as well. This week we solved some real-world questions modeled into quadratic equations. We also took the first step to prepare ourselves for e-assessment through the installation and exploration of the AssessPrep app. The focus towards learning is commendable and encouraging as always. Next week after the break, we will continue with the real- world applications of the quadratic functions in more detail and we will also move into the universe of exponential functions.

🎯 Grade 11: The City planners!

The learning engagement this week has been fantastic! We are exploring the voronoi diagrams in detail. Next week, after the break, we will continue working on voronoi diagrams for the largest empty circle, and the toxic waste dumping problem using the Voronoi diagrams.

You have all earned a wonderful and restful break. Go recharge those brilliant brains! 🧠

All the best,Β

Mr. Arun
