The grade 8 students had a challenging summative task in which they prepared lessons and taught their fellow students. They were assessed on working in groups to plan and learn. Then they were assessed on their teaching, followed by a peer review. Finally they had to do a reflection on the entire process. In this way, they have taught themselves and have learnt that learning is active.
