Last Thursday, as part of their Mini-Exhibition, Grade 5 presented at a workshop at Sohar University entitled Effective Waste Management in Schools. Their audience was government school teachers, Ministry of Education officials and representatives from other concerned organizations. The most amazing part was they presented in Arabic! Ms. Maram did a wonderful job preparing them for it and the audience was simply thrilled with their effort. Grade 5 was invited to present at the workshop because they are trying to raise awareness on the issue of wasted bottled water at ABIS as well as in the community at Safeer Mall and Sohar University. They spoke about this important issue and the programs ABIS has started (battery collection, recycling of drinking cans and reusing and recycling paper) to try to more effectively manage the waste ABIS and the school community creates.
