Hello ABIS community!
I am Margot Simonds ( Ms. Margot) and I am the Teacher Librarian/Information Literacy specialist here at ABIS. This is my second year and I am excited to share all the work that has been going on to get the library ready for students and teachers. It is looking great! Ms. Ahlam and Ms. Maryam have been working hard all summer entering and labeling books into our system. There are lots of new books ( and even some new “library” friends) that I can’t wait to introduce the students to! This summer I was able to do quite a bit of traveling with Mr. Munn ( my husband and one of the PE teachers) and really enjoyed getting to spend time with all three of my amazing children.
I am looking forward to see returning and new student faces this coming week, and even more excited to see students when we come back face-to-face! I will be teaching Information Literacy classes to K1 to grade 6 this year, and supporting secondary students and teachers with information literacy skills as well. I can’t wait to read with the students and hold more conversations about reading, researching and digital citizenship!
