Another intense week in the Science department. Grade 11 Biology students are studying enzymes and enzymatic action, experimenting with enzymes to figure out how to measure the rate of enzyme action using a standard curve from a previous experiment. Grade 11 Chemistry students did a test on Atomic structure and started with unit number 3, the periodic table.
Grade 12 Biology students continued with human physiology HL and developed a model of a sarcomere to visualize muscle contraction. The grade 12 Chemistry students finished with REDOX reactions and are getting ready for a test in the unit next week.
Grade 7 students did a research project on impacts of mass transportation and solutions to these impacts. They presented their work and will be taking a test on the whole first unit this coming Sunday.
We also had a visit from some primary students who were investigating germs and the importance of personal hygiene.
