Reflecting at the end of an incredibly busy week, I have been really pleased with the efforts of students returning to study mathematics. Grades 9 and 11 have started new courses and have approached the fresh challenge with enthusiasm. Grade 9’s have started with a topic that I only usually teach to grade 11 students and have been working extremely hard to master the new topic. Grade 11 have started with a topic that I remember as the first topic when I was doing my A Level Mathematics back in the 1980’s (I won’t tell you whether it was the end or the start of the 80’s!)
Grade 10’s have a busy year ahead preparing for their IGCSE and they must remember to do some maths every day to keep their skills fresh!
Grade 7’s have returned and are their usual ebullient selves – and I am looking forward to another positive and successful year with them!
