We have had a busy couple of weeks in the history department. 19 students represented ABIS at The Sultan’s School MUN conference last weekend. They learned and practiced the skillful art of formal debate while learning about current global issues.
Grade 9 students had fun this week preparing for a great debate between the 3 early statesmen of Italy. Grade 10 students are debating whether the strong Germany that Bismarck created was actually what pushed European powers into World War I.
The IB History students are deciding if Napoleon was good for France, or if he pushed it back to autocracy, while the IB 12s ponder about the Vietnam and Korean Wars.
So much going on in history!
