Focusing during this period at Al Batinah International School (ABIS) on launching our first IB Primary Years Programme (IBPYP) unit of inquiry, “Who We Are”.
This week, our students from Kindergarten to Grade 2 delivered wonderful oral presentations. They showcased inspiring courage and confidence as they spoke about themselves, their hobbies, their families, and their favorite food and games.
Beyond boosting self-confidence, these presentations offered rich educational benefits:
Public Speaking & Communication: Building early presentation skills and expressing ideas clearly to an audience.
Self-Reflection & Identity: Helping students explore their uniqueness and develop self-awareness.
Social Connections: Fostering empathy, respect, and peer appreciation within the classroom.
It was also a fantastic display of transdisciplinary learning. Students brought family photos, drew portraits, and created hands-on models.
This beautifully combined Arabic language and expression skills with Visual Arts and PYP core concepts into one meaningful learning experience.

ركزنا هذه الفترة في مدرسة الباطنة الدولية (ABIS) على تفعيل الوحدة الأولى “من نحن” (Who We Are) ضمن برنامج السنوات الابتدائية (IBPYP). خلال هذا الأسبوع، قدم طلابنا من الصف التمهيدي حتى الصف الثاني عروضًا شفوية مميزة، أظهروا فيها شجاعة وثقة عالية في التحدث عن أنفسهم، هواياتهم، عائلاتهم، وما يفضلونه من طعام وألعاب.
وقد حققت هذه الفعالية فوائد تربوية شاملة لطلابنا، أبرزها: تطوير مهارات التحدث والخطابة: كسر حاجز الخوف والتعبير عن الأفكار بطلاقة أمام الجمهور. التأمل الذاتي والاستقلالية: إدراك الطفل لنقاط قوته وهويته الشخضية. تعزيز مهارات التواصل الاجتماعي: التعرف على تجارب الأقران وبناء بيئة قائمة على التقبل والاحتواء.
كما تجلى تكامل المناهج بأبهى صوره؛ حيث أحضر الطلاب صورًا لعائلاتهم، وصمموا مجسمات ورسومات من إبداعهم، مما ربط مهارات اللغة العربية والتعبير بمادة الفنون ومفاهيم البي واي بي في تجربة تعليمية ممتعة. نشكر أولياء الأمور الكرام على دعمهم الدائم لأبطالنا الصغار!
