Our G11 Chemistry students have spent the week building important foundations for their DP Chemistry journey. We explored atomic structure, the periodic table, and writing chemical formulae for monoatomic and polyatomic ions. Next week, we will move into chemical reactions, essential mathematical skills and using the IB Chemistry Data Booklet.
Our G12 Chemistry students began with a recap of Structures 1, 2 and 3, using mind maps to consolidate their knowledge. We then introduced Reactivity 1 – Energetics, including a practical investigation into energy changes in endothermic and exothermic reactions. We look forward to building on this work in the coming weeks.
