In our Grade 9 advisory sessions, we have been doing reflection sessions on conflict resolution. Together with Ms. Ahlam, we have already explored several foundational areas, starting with a self-assessment of our existing conflict management knowledge and an introduction to what conflict management truly means. From there, we focused inward to understand our personal styles of managing friction, analyzed the powerful emotion of anger, and examined the root causes behind why conflicts happen in the first place. Looking ahead, we hope to continue with the rest of these valuable topics especially focusing on choosing our actions, understanding others, and finding real solutions,in close collaboration with our counselor, Ms. Sharouq.

Mastering these skills now is incredibly important as we navigate the complexities of secondary school and beyond. Conflict is a natural part of life, but learning how to de-escalate tension, regulate our emotions, and empathize with differing perspectives empowers us to build healthier, stronger relationships. By equipping ourselves with these tools, we are not just solving everyday disagreements; we are developing the emotional intelligence and leadership qualities needed to create a more supportive and harmonious school community.
