Ramadan Kareem to all!
We have completed the 23 weeks of the academic year. This has been an exciting week as we have been celebrating assessments of learning and assessment of learnings in school. It is good to see everyone full of energy and this semester is going great. It is just awesome to see you everyday. Here’s a look at the incredible things we did this week and the exciting adventures ahead!
🚀 Grade 7: Defining Mathematical relationships using expressions!
You absolutely rocked this week while simplifying mathematical expressions. You learnt the simplification of the algebraic expressions leading to solution of equations and substitution into the mathematical equations. Some students are really enjoying it and they are coming up to solve questions in front of the class which is a great highlight of the week for me. You will now continue learning mathematical expressions and equations to prepare for criterion A summative in near future.
💡 Grade 8: Mastering Geometry!
This week, we started with geometry. We are focussing on prior knowledge of angles around a point, on a line and between parallel lines. We explored the concepts of corresponding, alternate angles and co-interior angles. We have now started with angles in triangles and exterior angles of triangles. The engagement during these inquiries are the best thing to experience this week too. We will continue with basic concepts of geometry next week as well while moving from prior knowledge to new knowledge.
✨ Grade 9: Exploring the data and its visualisation!
This week, we have started exploring data. We are inquiring into the types of data, measures of central tendency, measures of spread focussed on Range and IQR. Students have learnt how to find the five-point summary and use it to make a box and whisker plot. The students are solving questions by themselves and this engagement is very encouraging. Next week, we will start with bivariate data handling.
📈 Grade 10: Exploring data reasoning and probability!
This week we have completed the data handling and started with probability . We are exploring simple probability. The discussions and queries during problem-solving are the biggest highlight of the week. Next week, we will continue with sets and probability along with revision of concepts of statistics.
🎯 Grade 11: Exploring Trigonometry and solids and statistics!
The learning engagement this week has been fantastic! We inquired into the unit on geometry and trigonometry exploring surface area and volume of solids, and applied Pythagoras theorem and trigonometry in right angled and non-right- angled triangles. We completed the theoretical part of the concepts and solved the exam style questions of paper 2 which involves long questions. We also completed the summative based on these topics. We have moved on to statistics and reviewing the prior knowledge. Next week, we will continue problem solving with statistics and probability.
You have all earned a wonderful and restful weekend break. Let’s meet again on Sunday with lots of energy and excitement to learn and explore!!!
