Happy Wednesday to all!
We have completed the 21 weeks of the academic year. This 21st has been an exciting week as we have been celebrating assessments for learning and assessment of learnings in school. It is good to see everyone full of energy and this semester is going great. It is just awesome to see you everyday. Here’s a look at the incredible things we did this week and the exciting adventures ahead!
🚀 Grade 7: Defining Mathematical relationships using expressions !
You absolutely rocked this week while simplifying mathematical expressions in magic squares leading to a formative task in Magic triangles. You learnt the mathematical language and its conversion from english to mathematical expressions. You are trying to understand the simplification of the algebraic expressions which is a great highlight of the week for me. You will now use this learning and understanding of Mathematical language to complete the criterion B and C investigation next week.
💡 Grade 8: Mastering Linear Algebra and applying them in real-life!
This week, we practised to find the point of intersection using graphical and algebraic methods. The algebraic methods that you learnt are the substitution method and elimination methods and applied them in assessment for learning (Formative). We are applying these learnings in real-life situation problems. The engagement during these inquiries are the best thing to experience this week too. We will continue using the substitution and elimination method to solve problems based on real-life situations along with assessment of learning (summative) next week.
✨ Grade 9: Exploring the triangles and Trip!
This week,we are enhancing our learning of trigonometry, bearings, and angle of elevation and depression in real-life situations. We have done informal assessments for learning (Formatives). It is good to see that some of the students are going the extra mile to enhance their math skills. This engagement is very encouraging. Next week, we will continue the review of trigonometry, Bearings and angles of elevation and depression for assessment of learning (summative).
📈 Grade 10: Exploring circle theorems and trigonometry to explore the Math in drones!
This week we revised the concepts of circle theorems, trigonometry and basic geometry for formative and summative assessments. We have been solving challenging questions on circle theorems and trigonometry. Next week, we will begin with sets and probability along with revision of concepts of statistics.
🎯 Grade 11: Exploring Trigonometry and solids!
The learning engagement this week has been fantastic! We inquired into the unit on geometry and trigonometry exploring surface area and volume of solids, and applied Pythagoras theorem and trigonometry in right angled and non-right- angled triangles. We have completed the theoretical part of the concepts and solved the exam style questions. Next week, we will continue problem solving with geometry leading to formative and summative assessments.
You have all earned a wonderful and restful weekend break. Let’s meet again on Sunday with lots of energy and excitement to learn and explore!!!
