Grade 7 Science students are nearing the conclusion of their unit in Energy, Forces, and Work. In an effort to build research skills and media literacy into their learning, students have collaborated in groups to investigate the concept of Energy. They have looked into its different forms, uses, sources, and underlying principles. This group task helped them learn more in depth and also helped to develop their research and presentation skills, in line with the Approaches to Learning (ATLs).
The research task, completed as a formative assessment under Criterion D, serves as valuable preparation for their summative Criterion D assessment next month. With their Criterion A assessment coming up in two weeks, students are encouraged to continue reviewing the unit material using resources provided on Google Classroom.
Their last unit on the basics of cell biology starts on the 3rd week of April.
In Math, the students are preparing for their Criterion A test on Monday 14th that will cover angle properties (the second part of their geometry unit). We are spending time in class this week revising key concepts and practicing problem-solving to ensure they are well-prepared for the assessment.
The next unit on Algebraic expressions starts the week after.
