It’s been another fantastic week filled with musical exploration and discovery here at Al Batinah International School!
Our youngest learners in KG1 have been grooving and moving to the beat! Through curated movement activities, they’re expressing their understanding of the world around them – what they see, hear, and experience. Singing new songs and exploring stories told through music adds another layer of joy to their learning journey. 🎼
Grades 1 and 2 have been unleashing their inner musicians! Experimenting with different instruments allows them to express their creativity and develop a love for music. Grade 2 students are taking it a step further, honing their xylophone skills and becoming familiar with a wider range of instruments. 🎹
In Grades 3-6, the xylophone takes center stage as a tool for collaborative ensemble playing! Students are not only deepening their understanding of music notation through xylophones, recorders, and percussion instruments, but also developing their Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills like communication, collaboration, and critical thinking. Learning about the role of a conductor and how orchestras function adds another dimension to their musical knowledge. 🎻
