Week 7 in Music at ABIS Exploring Rhythms, Instruments, and Songwriting
What We’ve Learned This Week
This week in music class, we’ve been exploring a variety of musical concepts and having a blast!
For our younger students (KG-Grade 2):
- We’ve delved deeper into the world of rhythm using rhythm cards, sticks, and even our own bodies! We’ve learned new songs and explored creative movement to music.
- We’ve also started our journey into the world of guitars, beginning with the ukulele and exploring different types like acoustic, electro-acoustic, semi-acoustic, electric, and bass guitars. We’ve even learned how amps work to make our music sound louder!
For our older students (Grades 3-6):
- We’ve expanded our musical knowledge by learning new songs and collaborating on lyrics. We’ve explored the art of poetry and rhyme to create our own original lyrics.
- We’ve continued our exploration of windband instruments, engaging in hands-on experiences and planning for the upcoming winter concert.
- We’ve also focused on self-assessment and peer assessment to evaluate our progress in singing, playing instruments, and understanding rhythm.
Overall, it’s been a fantastic week of music exploration and learning!
