Public speaking can make many people panic. But everyone can learn skills and the confidence to speak in front of peers or a room full of strangers. MUN has provided students excellent opportunities to practice and refine their public speaking skills, most recently at The Sultan School in Muscat. Roughly 500 delegates from around Oman and as far away as China gathered together to debate and attempt to resolve issues that are relevant to our world today. In MUN, all delegates must use a specific format of speech, parliamentary procedure, and at times, must speak in front of small and large groups of people. Being able to communicate on the fly with respect and clarity is something that all our MUN students can display with maturity and a growing ease. The more they are challenged and given the opportunities to practice, the stronger they become.
