Grade 7 has been engulfed with lab work the entire week, gathering, recording and transforming scientific data into visuals that would enable them to interpret data and draw conclusions on their research work. It was an exciting experience for everyone in the class because it offered the students the rare opportunity to take responsibility of their own experiment, ensuring that data collected is accurate and interpreted in a scientifically acceptable way. As a teacher, I felt fulfilled being asked interesting questions about plant growth from the students and it was amazing to see how students get inspired to explore different aspects of units. This is what inquiry is all about. We expect to enrich our experience further by presenting our results as young scientists would do.
