How much fun it has been this week seeing familiar student faces and meeting new ones!

In ECC and lower primary we read the amazing “All Are Welcome” book by Alexandra Penfold and Suzanne Kaufman. The illustrations are just so lovely, and the message is even better. It was a nice start to our reading journey this year and the students enjoyed discussing the pictures. Students also enjoyed meeting our new library bookworm friends, Dylan and Quinn!

In upper primary we had some thoughtful discussions after reading “The Name Jar” by Yangsook Choi, a book about being in a new country and going to a new school. We talked about how inclusion can look, feel and sound very different from exclusion, as well as how we can help to make all members of our community feel welcome.

Here at the library we are beyond excited to welcome students back this coming week!  All are welcome here!!
