Hello,

It has been a pleasure to see everyone this week and the ABIS students have really impressed me with their warm welcome to a new member of the community, their friendliness and how well they have managed to quickly adapt to online face-to-face learning. Well done!

This week we have been demonstrating the learner profiles as we start the new school year. Grade 10 displayed that they are good communicators as they helped each other out with technical issues during the lesson, they were respectful but also their humour shone through. Grade 11 also displayed that they are good communicators and knowledgeable as they quickly took to new ideas, helped each other out with solutions and made the start of the school year seem effortless. Grade 12 demonstrated that they also are knowledgeable as they instructed me on how to use an iPad as a teaching tool and gave out Top Tips of things to make the iPad easier to use. One thing was to put your name on the lock screen so that if you ‘misplace’ the iPad it is obvious who it belongs to and can be returned to you. Another tip was to put your school timetable as the background image so you always have your timetable readily available.

In a nutshell, well-done everyone and thank you for making me feel welcome and a member of our wonderful ABIS Community. Enjoy the weekend and see you Sunday bright and early.
