So proud of the two G8 students, Georgia and Chiara who successfully co-led an extension to their Recycled Arts & Crafts ASA. Together with four primary students, they built a boat out of “up-cycled” water bottles, used pieces of wood, some rope and tape. After a planning session and a bit of research about boat building, they all worked together to designed their boat. Based on their design, they began collecting all the necessary materials and putting the pieces together. The process involved quite a bit of problem solving in order to build something that was lite, sturdy, and “sea worthy”.

In the end, they built a boat that could hold two younger passengers or one adult. The boat had her maiden voyage on Sunday this week and successfully carries its passengers safely in the ABIS swimming pool. We did experience some parts falling off and moving out of place, but with quick problem solving, we were able to keep her floating. Nice job to the students in the ASA and especially to Chiara and Georgia!
