Grade 7 students continued with the chemical reactions topic and performed an experiment to observe metal displacement reactions. They also participated in some combustion demos as part of the topic.
Grade 11 Chemistry students continued producing molecular models (Lewis structures) and applied that knowledge to predict the polarity of molecules based on their geometry. Biology students studied respiration and investigated the effect of temperature on the rate of respiration in pea seeds.
Grade 12 Chemistry students finished the topic of Organic Chemistry (stereoisomers) and focused on their internal assessment, whilst the Biology students finished with the SL option on further human Physiology.
